Colton's Swim Lessons - Day 1

Thanks Uncle Brian for taking pictures!
2011 vs. 2012
Climbing out of the pool on their own
Getting back in...
Kicking our feet
The biggest issue Kristen and I both had on day 1 is we just got back from vacation where the kids got to play in the pool for 7 days!  So Colton and Ava wanted to play at swim lessons too!  They both kept wanting to jump in the pool vs. climbing in.  :-)

Colton Counting

Colton turned 2 and really started talking.
Then turned 2 1/2 and REALLY started talking NONSTOP!
Here is he counting for us this week at dinner.
I'm going to try and get more video of him talking because he really does talk non-stop now.  In the car it's "there's a blue car" or "that truck have trailer" or "the light is red"...just everything he noticed he says out loud.  Another thing he is doing is if he says something or asks you a question but you don't answer with the exact same thing he just said or in a way he likes he will go "no mommy..." and ask the question again until he gets the answer he wants.  He is turning out to have a very strong personality (not sure who he gets that from!  LOL)

Branson Pool Fun at Big Cedar

Tuesday Kraig's Aunt Susan & Uncle Rex, Uncle Horace & Aunt Kathy and Grandma El were in Branson at Big Cedar.  I had to work (since we just got back from vacation and I also have maternity leave coming up) but Kraig took the kids to visit and they had a blast!  They basically went swimming for 5 hours and Lauren went down a giant slide, jumped of Rex' shoulders into the water, did a back flip in the water, etc.  Colton was out about 10 minutes into the car ride home.  Great job babe!  Thanks for taking them and I'm so glad everyone had a great time!  Thanks Susan and Rex for putting this week together...sorry we were not able to make the full week, but happy Kraig was able to bring the kids over for a day!  We will plan to come over for a day next year too (and this time I will join everyone)!
Lauren about to jump off of Rex' shoulders!

35 Weeks - Baby #3

We had our 35 week check up Tuesday morning.  Everything looks great and we start our weekly appointments next week to check for progress!  I can't believe I have ONE MONTH left!  Crazy!
35 week comparison photos with Lauren, Colton and baby #3.
Stats
How Far Along
: 35 weeks
Size of baby: Large Cantaloupe (19 to 22 inches long and about 6 lbs)
Baby's Heart Rate: 160's
Measurement: 35 cm
Blood Pressure: 114/76 (mine is always low)
Weight Gain: 1 pound so a total of 21 pounds so far
Maternity Clothes: Um Yes!
Gender: It's a Surprise!
Movement: Yes!  Most of the time it feels like he/she is trying to get comfortable and I feel/see rolls and sometimes little jabs on my ribs/sides/etc (those are not to comfortable...but I still LOVE it!)
Sleep: Normal for someone in their last trimester.  I get up to pee a lot and for some reason can only sleep comfortably on my right side now because when I sleep on my left side I get heart burn right by my left rib so I have to shift sides often.
Symptoms: Acid Reflux is starting to hit, heartburn is coming back and I'm still feeling some light cramps every once in a while.
What I miss: Being able to bend over normally...but this too shall pass!
Cravings: Decaf Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Latte with Soy from Starbucks!
Best Moment this week: Feeling rolls instead of just kicks and guessing what body part that was that just hit my ribs, etc.
What I am looking forward to: Seeing my baby for the first time!

Family Pics Destin, FL 2012

Sometimes life happens (especially with kids).  We were unable to get a big group photo this year as Kieran was running a fever the night we had planned to do our photo and Ava had Hand Foot Mouth earlier in the week so that's why we were waiting until later in the week.  Kristen and I decided to do individual family photos the next morning instead.  I think they turned out great!  Thanks Brian for taking our photos!

Destin, FL 2012

This year instead of driving all the way there in one day we split it up and it was super easy!  Lauren had a little stomach bug on Friday when we left and threw up once at home and then once in the car (right after we got on I-540) but then was fine.  So thank God she was feeling better after 24 hours and no one else got it!
After a little drive in the car the kids both fell asleep as we left town just after 12 noon Friday (their normal nap time).
We stayed the night in Vicksburg, MS and then got up and drove the other half to Destin.  This is the underground tunnel in Mobile, AL and the Navy boats, etc just after you come out of the tunnel.
King and Queen hats from Burger King always make a trip fun!

Saturday afternoon once we got checked in the first thing we did was go to the pool!
Sunday morning we went to the beach for a bit...Lauren loved it and Colton got more and more used to it but still never loved the water...he wanted to stay up on the sand and build things.
We had dinner at Russ and Sue's condo two nights during the week so here are pic's of the kids having fun!
Colton = 2 years and 7 months, Lauren = turned 5 the Sunday we got back from vacation
Kieran = 3 years and 1 month, Ava = 1 year and 10 months
Tuesday night we had a group dinner out at the Fisherman's Warf area in Baytown Sandestin.
This was also the night I had contractions for 3 hours straight (from 7-10 pm) and we had to leave dinner early but all turned out fine and the contractions stopped.  Guess I overdid it that day at the beach/pool.
Swimming fun
Colton playing with a monster truck on the last day at the pool (this boy loves trains and cars!)
The kids did AMAZING this year at swimming!  Lauren was jumping off the side of the pool and going all the way under and coming up not afraid of getting water in her eyes/mouth/etc.  Colton was more adventurous this year than he has been in the past (probably because he see's Lauren doing stuff and he wants to be big like her).  He was jumping in the water also and would go under sometimes but would rather jump in and keep his head above water.  :-)  Lauren even went under the waterfall this year so that was big for her!
Here they are swimming together.  Lauren kept trying to get Colton to jump to her in the water, and he would...but I was more afraid he would not jump far enough or she would not catch him...so this time he was standing on the ledge (in the water where people normally sit) and she came over and picked him up in the water and then was being a true big sister and carrying him around the pool, etc.  I'm really enjoying this stage right now because yes they fight...but Lauren is also playing 'mommy' sometimes and saying "here Bubby" or "let me show you how that works Bubby" and Colton is saying "come here sissy" or "look sissy" so it's really cute!
Family dinner just the four of us at Bistro Bijoux (I can only say "the four of us" for a few more weeks!)
We ended up eating here two nights during the week because the food was so good.  Once just because and once for our 9 year anniversary dinner!

Good bye Sandestin!  This was the sunrise on our way out of town.  Just beautiful!
