I.JUST.WANT.TO.SLEEP/EAT

This is not the best video since it's from my phone...but after the soccer party Colton was spent! He was so tired but he had not ate yet so I got him two cheese roll ups from Taco Bell and he ate one but just could not quite get the 2nd one down and this is why. :-) Love this little guy!

Great Book!

For all you new moms out there...this is the book that we used with Lauren and loved it! I used the same principles with Colton and he goes to bed every night without issue! I just feed him and then put him in his bed and he rolls over and goes to sleep!

This Morning I Woke Up To...

the sweetest noise a mama can hear. Her baby boy just gibber-jabbering in his room. He didn't cry when he woke up...he just started playing and talking to himself. I overheard him on the monitor and just had to go get him because it was the cutest thing ever! I love you Colton and am proud of you for truly sleeping through the night now!

10 months old!

I cannot believe that 10 months ago today I was sitting at my desk at work thinking about my dr. appointment later that afternoon and wondering when I would see my baby boy for the first time, not knowing that I would meet this precious baby boy just a few hours later! Colton turns 10 months old today! What's going on in Colton's life you ask???

  • Crawling very fast on all 4's now...we set him down and 2 seconds later he is across the room!
  • Pulling up on EVERYTHING...living room table, bathtub (which scares me), Lauren's bed, pack n play, crib, etc...you get the idea!
  • Teething! - Your first 2 teeth are coming in on the bottom gum...finally!
  • Eating - We have yet to find something you won't eat!
  • Sleeping - Before your teeth starting to break through you were starting to sleep through the night (8:30-5:30 or 6 am)...but because your teeth are bothering you, you have been getting up for the past week...but I think you will be back to your good sleep schedule soon!

Funny Stories I want to remember:

Story #1 - At 9 months old we started having you sleep in your crib all night. The first two nights I fed you and put you down in your crib asleep but when I put you down you woke up. You cried for about 5 minutes and then thought "ok I give up" and went to sleep. Ever since then it's funny to watch you. You just cry for about 10 seconds and then lay down. Last night you cried for 10 seconds and then laid down...then your dad and I would watch you on the monitor and talk about what you were doing because you would sit up and find a paci...lay down and then sit back up. We kept saying "I'm so tired" when you would lay down and then follow that up with "nope, I'm not tired..I'm awake!" when you would sit up...then 2 seconds later you were back down, etc...it was just funny to watch you and hear your daddy commentate your moves. :-)

Story #2 - Our normal nightly routine is for me to take you into your room and nurse you in the rocking chair and then put you in bed still somewhat awake and you put yourself to sleep after about 10 seconds of "hey why are you not rocking me anymore". The second and I mean second we sit in the chair and you hear my bra click you take your paci out of your mouth and throw it down like "YES dinner!" LOL

We love you baby boy!!!!

9 hours of sleep!!!

This cute little guy slept in his crib from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. last night! He woke up once at 1 am but we let him cry it out and he went back to sleep and slept until 5:30 a.m.! I'm so proud of you Colton! Maybe there is something to this thing called sleep that other people talk about! LOL I'm ready to get back into a routine of working out in the morning so with Colton and Lauren sleeping from 8:30-5:30 or 6:30 (like Lauren did last night) that might actually happen!

13 Weeks and Bouncing

As of today my little boy is 13 weeks old...by date he will be 3 months old tomorrow on the 19th. Yesterday he weighed 14 1/2 pounds! He is doing great at daycare, eats like a champ (every 2-4 hours during the day) and has even slept for 7 hours straight 3 nights this past week! His colic seems to be gone which is nice and as you can see from the pictures below he is an all around happy baby now! He even laughed outloud for the first time today (an actual belly laugh not his normal small laugh)!
Thanks for the outfit Aunt Tammy!

Naptime with Daddy!

FIRST go to the bottom of the page and click pause on the music so you can hear the videos I have added! Then come back to the postings and listen. :-)
When I got home from work Wednesday this is what I found...
Now tell me she does not look like her daddy!
Kraig said that she played outside a lot at daycare Wednesday and she had dirt all in her hair, behind her ears, etc. Needless to say, it wore her out! So when I got home she was putting herself to sleep in daddy's arms. :-)
The trade off to Mommy was successful!

The video below is of Lauren snoring. I'm not sure if you can hear her or not, but she was a little. Also, you can see how she puts herself to sleep by rubbing her fingers through her hair. Isn't she cute?!?!?

A good nap will put anyone in a good mood! The postings below show you what she did after we gave her a bath (the tub was very dirty from all the dirt she had on her from school!)

Blessed!

Hello all...I just wanted to share with you how blessed I feel today. My baby girl is 14 months and has such the personality! She is at that fun stage where she is walking, talking, singing (Itsy Bitsy Spider & Old McDonald...in her words of course) dancing and laughing all the time. I had a friend tell me a while back (Lori) that every 3 months gets easier and at 10 months their personalities come out and they are just more fun than they have ever been. Well at 10 months she was so much fun and it was so interesting to experience all her first with her...but now that she is 14 months old I just can't stop kissing her cheeks, playing with her and just enjoying her company. Lori you were right about the 10 month stage and guess what...it's now 4 months later (just a few days past...so it looks like your 3 month theory was also right) and she is so easy to take care of and just full of life! She looks at me and lifts her eyebrows now like she has something really important to tell me...she gives me hugs and kisses...it's just so much fun!

She is napping in her crib right now and I'm glued to the monitor because she is just so funny! I put her down still awake and she just sat there playing with her bunny for a while, then got her paci and laid down and went to sleep. She woke up about 45 minutes after she had been asleep (in the past I would have gone in there after 1 or 2 minutes thinking she was ready to get up...but I read the book Healthy Sleeping Habits, Happy Child while we were in Cancun so I thought I'll just wait it out and see what happens) and sat up in her crib playing with the bunny and a worm...she cried off and on for less than 5 minutes and then she went back to sleep. After about 15 minutes she was up again, but this time she just sat up and held her bunny. The cutest thing was she picked up her paci and tried to give it to her bunny! I called Kraig and told him because it was just so cute! She wanted her bunny to have a paci also! :-) She then started falling asleep sitting up holding her bunny!!! After a few seconds I guess she decided it was time to lay down again so she did and she has been out now for a total of 1.5 hours (including the short wake up times)...so I'm SO glad I read the book while on vacation because Kraig and I are such suckers and we love being around her all the time so in the past when she would wake up we would instantly go in to get her so we could play with her. I'm learning though that babies will wake up because they are afraid of missing out on something (playing with parents etc.) but their sleep is very important! I know, I know...most of you mothers already know this and you are probably saying "Lauren is 14 months old and she is just now figuring this out"? Well the truth is that Kraig and I are the issue...not Lauren. :-) We are the typical first time parents that hold their baby too much, sleep with the baby in their bed and nap with their child, etc. The truth is we just love Lauren SO much and know that one day she will no longer want that snuggle time so we are getting it in as much as we can while she is young. It is nice that she is sleeping in her crib right now so I can get stuff done or have some "me" time also...so that is not bad...I'm just saying that we have really enjoyed our snuggle time with our "widdles"! We love you baby girl!

I feel very blessed to have the wonderful husband and daughter that I have...I would not change my life for anything! I love being a mom and wife! God knew what he was doing when he brought Kraig and I together to create this perfect little child! :-)
*This photo is one of my all time favorites...she was 3 months old. :-)
