Kids Rooms

I've had a few people ask how we are decorating Colton's room so I wanted to share some photos of Lauren and Colton's new bedding. These are just the manufacturers photos as we have not been able to paint their rooms yet since Lauren's bedding will not be here until this Thursday. Once we get the rooms all painted and set up I'll post pics so everyone can see. But here are pics of what their bedding will look like. Enjoy!

Fun Times with Lauren

Tonight Lauren and I got some mommy/daughter time while daddy went to the cabin with Papaw to check out his new hunting camera. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond to order her 'big girl' bedding (I can't wait until it comes in...it's so cute!!!) After that we came home, ate dinner (Wendy's...see I told you I've not been a healthy eater lately!) and then it was bath time. She loves baths! She wants to stay in the tub even after the water is all gone because she still wants to play. Well tonight was no different. She wanted to wash her toys...so here are some photos of her in the bath tub. Isn't she cute?!?!?! I love you baby girl!
This was her 'hat' before her bath. :-)

35 Week Check Up

We had our 35 week appointment with Dr. Reiter today. Everything is going great! I measured 35 cm (or 35 wks) which means we are right on track! I have gained 16 pounds since our first doctors appointment (not because I've been eating healthy...trust me...Kraig will tell you! I just can't eat as much anymore now that he is all the way up in my ribs and my stomach is being squished) and Colton's heart rate was 153-154. He was moving a lot at the appointment and even kicked the Doctor's hand when he was reading the heart rate. :-) So only 5 more weeks until our due date and we start our weekly appointments next week. Dr. Reiter said "now don't do anything next week because I'll be in Mexico" and I was thinking we are not planning on anything happening...that's 4 wks early so I hope I have not jinxed myself! Anyway, I'll keep you posted on the weeks to come.
Colton's Stats: Weight - should be around 5 1/2 pounds
Height - should be around 20 1/4 inches
Have a great week!

Here are more belly comparison shots. The first shot is my pregnancy with Lauren at 35 wks and the 2nd shot is my pregnancy now with Colton.

No Paci!!! - 27 Months Old

Saturday we decided it was time to get rid of the pacifier since the only times she used a paci anymore was to go to sleep at nap time and night time and Kraig was really worried it was messing up her pallet in her mouth. So when Lauren woke up from her nap we said we had to wash her paci's because they were dirty. When it was bed time I put her down with a cup of milk (not the norm because it's bad for their teeth). Well, she did great! Never complained. Sunday during her nap time she cried for an hour wanting her paci but I would not give in. After an hour of crying Kraig and I went in and got her out of bed. She was happy about that but still asked for her paci. We told her it was dirty so she could not have it. Then Sunday night I put her down again with a cup of milk but it didn't work as good. She still wanted a paci...but luckily it only lasted 5 minutes and then she went to sleep. Monday I took her to school and told them No Paci! One teacher said that the other teachers were trying to give it to her but she threw it away so they could not. The next day I asked some of her teachers about the paci situation and they acted like she did fine and never asked for it. :-) So there were two different stories there...but hey, at least she was not getting a paci right?!?!?! Monday night was better as she asked for it but we replaced her paci with a book so she got to take a book to bed with her. Tuesday again no paci at school! Tuesday night she asked for it but didn't cry about it. Wednesday no paci at school! Wednesday night we let her drink her milk on the couch by us...brushed her teeth and then read a book. Thursday still no paci at school! Finally Thursday night she NEVER mentioned the paci! So my story is this...it was not as bad as we thought it was going to be. Getting her to sleep in her crib was MUCH worse than this so we probably should have gotten rid of the paci a while back...but hey, at least we are getting rid of it before baby Colton arrives! I didn't want to wait and try to have her get rid of it after he arrives and have her see him with one and not understand why he could have one but she could not and resent him for it. So I'm crossing my fingers...but maybe tonight was the sign that she is over it? We shall see! :-)

34 Wks

Yesterday marked our 34 wk point. Only 6 wks to go! I have decided I am addicted to sweets this time around! It's only been 6 weeks since I found out I don't have Gestational Diabetes and I ate good for about 3 wks...but ever since then I think the sweet tooth is back like a raging bull! :-(
Colton's Stats -
Around 5 pounds
Crown to Rump length is 12.5 inches with the total length of 19 3/4 inches!

33 Week Check up

We had our 33 week check up today. Everything looks great. Colton's heartbeat was 150, I measured 32 cm (could have been Colton's position or the fact that my hand was behind my head that made me measure 1 cm smaller than I should be) and have gained 14 lbs so far. Dr. Reiter said it doesn't look like I'll be having an 8 or 9 pounder at this point and I said "I'll be perfectly happy with another 6-7 pounder like Lauren" (6 lbs 11 oz). :-) So we will see. Only 7 short weeks to go!
Colton's Stats - He should be around 4.6 lbs and 19.5 inches from head to toe!

We won't have any more belly comparison shots until week 35 as with Lauren's pregnancy I skipped weeks 33 & 34 for some reason? Have a great week everyone!

1st Baby Shower for Colton

Sunday night Greg and Jen hosted a co-ed Baby shower for baby Colton. It was a huge success and I think everyone had a great time! Below are some photos from the shower.
Lauren has a new buddy...Hayden! We got to see him last week and then this weekend as well so whatever he was doing she wanted to do too. If he was eating she wanted to eat, if he was drinking milk she wanted milk, etc. It was too cute. Thanks for sharing your toys Hayden!

32 Weeks

Happy 32 Weeks to me! Only 8 more weeks before we meet our precious baby boy! I'm a very lucky pregnant lady. I'm feeling wonderful and enjoying the process! Lauren has started saying, "he's gonna come out and play?" and we tell her "yes but he is not ready yet but he will be soon!" Your sister loves you already Colton! We can't wait for you to meet this wonderful person you will call your Big Sister!
Colton's Stats - At this time Colton should be around 4 lbs and 16 inches from head to toe and his lungs are almost fully developed!
Here is another belly comparison. 32 weeks with Lauren vs. 32 weeks with Colton.
