Gnomeo and Juliet

Saturday Lauren, Colton and I met my Mom, Tammy, Katlyn and Austin at Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then saw Gnomeo & Juliet in 3D at Pinnacle Theater. It was fun...but little Colton was more interested in walking around than watching the movie. :-)

Colton's New Do

Saturday Kraig and I decided that Colton needed a new look. So we cut his hair!
Before...my brown haired child...

And after...my blonde haired boy! Finally...I do have a child that looks like me! LOL
We love it! He looks so much older though...that's a little sad...but I think he likes it!

Look Out David Beckham...Colton Williams Has Arrived!

Look for this cutie in your March 2011 Kids Directory

(River Valley edition).

This is one of the pictures Mika Beth took last April when Colton was almost 6 months old. She emailed me last week letting us know his picture was selected for the cover of the local Kids Directory Magazine for March!

Happy Valentines Day!

These were taken at the kids school this morning on my phone before we went into Colton's room. Lauren is trying to 'help' hold Colton still for the picture...you see how it goes.
Colton walking away
"Bubby be still!"
Then I sat them in the cubbies and Colton thought he was big stuff!
‎"Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning."
These precious babies give it meaning for Kraig and I!
Happy Valentines Day everyone!

WHOA!

Just this past week or two Colton has really started talking more. Most of it is gibber jabber but he started saying Whoa lately and I finally got it on video!

Kids Enjoying the Snowcation 2011

This afternoon it was a little warmer than the -14 degrees it was this morning! So I bundled up the kids and we went out in the snow. I didn't figure it would last long because my previous experience with Colton and snow was that he didn't like it...well nothing changed! Lauren on the other hand wanted to stay out longer...but we stayed out about 15 minutes and then came inside for some warm hot chocolate!
Lauren's trek outside...

As you can see someone didn't like the snow. This was the face I got the second I put him in it!
The snow is up to Lauren's little hips!

Lauren sitting on her bike

This was the only time Colton was content outside in the snow...as long as he was not sitting directly in the snow he was ok...the rest of the time I was holding him. :-)
Hot Chocolate time!

Snowcation 2011 continues

Tuesday night we were supposed to get a few inches of snow. Well a few turned into 18+ inches! So needless to say we are at home again and are snowed in. :-) I've never seen snow like this in NWA!
To show a comparison the first picture was around 8 am...the second is in the afternoon.
8 am
Kraig trekking over to the Henry's to get flour...thanks Missy!
Now off to the Anderson's for sugar...thanks Kim!

Remember the snowman we made on Saturday...well it is now covered in snow up to it's belly! and yes that is Lauren's bike handle bars sticking out of the snow!
This was us Saturday the 5th!
And this the same snowman 4 days later...

Me taking Bo out to potty. Poor guy...he would NOT go in the snow! It was up to his shoulders!

Kraig went to work today (Thursday) and I'm at home with the kids because our daycare is closed due to the weather. These were the tire tracks his truck made. CRAZY!

It sure is pretty though!

Update on Staph

Thank you all for the prayers!

I wanted to let everyone know that I am doing much better! I think this whole thing was due to the staph infection and/or antibiotic. I have not taken the antibiotic in 4 days now and I'm starting to get the strength back in my hands! I understand my hip pain was probably just due to the half marathon training but that sure didn't explain the arthritic responses in my hands. My rash is gone and the ring around the staph site (from bandaids) is slowly getting better too. So things are looking up! I'll just have to remember to let Dr's know to not give me any Sulfa drugs from now on!

What's Up With The Williams?

Every heard of the saying "when it rains it pours" well it seems to be pouring in the Williams household...but I know there is Sunshine ahead!!! Glory to God as I will praise him in the good and trying times!

So…there has been a lot going on with us the past two weeks but I didn't want to be a Debby Downer and complain...but I'm now asking for your prayers as I'm ready for a beach vacation or something that is NO stress! LOL I wanted to updated everyone on the blog so I didn't have to type all this multiple times and so you don’t feel out of the loop.

  • Sunday – January 23rd I noticed a what appeared to be a spider bite on my hip
  • Monday – January 24th I took Colton to the dr and he had an ear infection
  • Tuesday – January 25th Kraig had a Crown replaced at the Dentist because it fell out and it cost 2 times the amount it would have cost if he did it in 2010!
  • Wednesday – January 26th Lauren’s earring hole was infected
  • Thursday – January 27th Colton woke up with a rash…Kraig took him to the Dr and he is allergic to the antibiotic Zythromax so he had to have Benadryl for several days until it cleared up.
  • Friday – January 28th I went to dr for my spider bite that was not getting better (it’s now 5 days old)
  • Saturday – January 29th Lauren woke up with lice…gross!
  • Sunday – January 30th Great day!
  • Monday – January 31st I went to dr because the antibiotics I was on for my spider bite were not helping…the bite site was getting worse and the Dr. told me Friday it should be significantly better by Monday and if it wasn’t she wanted to see me…so I didn’t even schedule an appointment…I just drove to their office and got right in…they cut open the site and sent off for testing…waiting to see if it’s resistant staph (MRSA)…if it is then I will potentially have to be put on another antibiotic but I continue to take the 1st one until that test comes back (bite is now 8 days old)
  • Tuesday – February 1st through Saturday, February 5th great week! Lauren's lice was gone...Colton's hives were gone and I got to go to the gym Saturday afternoon and continue my training for the half marathon in April...I ran 3.5 miles with zero issues!
  • Sunday – February 6th Last day of my 10 day antibiotics and I woke up with red bumps all over my body…possibly allergic to the antibiotic I’m on? AND my sisters Bobye and Mary Ann’s mother passed away from a massive heart attack
  • TODAY Monday – February 7th I went to the Dr again because of the rash (that is now itching all over) and the bite site was not 100% better AND I have a ring around it from wearing band aids (a reaction to the adhesive on the bandages the Dr said) AND because I still didn’t know the results from the culture they did a week ago because the weather delayed the lab from getting it back to them in the normal time range

Ok, so details on my bite/rash…

  • Lab work on the sample they cut out of me Monday January 31st…turns out it IS resistant staph (MSRA) but the good news is it was not resistant to the antibiotic they originally gave me so that should take care of it and I don’t have to be put on another antibiotic and today the Dr said my bite site actually looks MUCH better so it is doing great (much to my surprise because it didn't look 'great' to me)!
  • Turns out I am allergic to the antibiotic Baxtrum (a Sulfa drug so I now have to mark that I’m allergic to Sulfa anytime someone asks me if I’m allergic to anything) which is why I have the rash
  • I have been having hip and joint pain for the last 2 weeks. I had bad hip pain with both my pregnancies but the last two weeks I cannot even open my kids sippy cups at times! The Dr asked if anyone in my family has arthritis and I said yes my dad does and she asked which kind but I told her I didn’t know because my dad does not like to go to the Dr and he won't give me a straight answer.
  • I have also been having headaches the last two weeks and I never have headaches.
  • She tested my reflexes and said they were good.
  • She looked into the staph infection and antibiotic side effects and came back and said it is very rare that someone would have arthritic affects from the antibiotic but it is a risk AND if the staph had reached my joints then that could also be the reason I’m having these arthritic reactions to stuff lately.
  • She said that she wanted to do some blood work to see if the staph had reached my joints but if they did the blood work in their office it would take a few days to get back…so she wrote me a work order and off to the hospital I went so that they would have the results back within a few hours.
  • She said if the staph has reached my joints it can be serious and they need to know it now.
  • So at this point I’m just waiting on them to call me with the results and go from there.

So today I’ve been to the Dr Office, the hospital, the Assessor’s office and Revenue office (to get tags for my car)…so WHAT A way to start my week hu! LOL! Now if anything else happens I’m just going to laugh because that’s all we can do and honestly it is almost comical at this point looking back on it all. One good thing from today was I was in and out of the Assessors office and Revenue office in 30 minutes! That's got to be a record right?!?! ;-)

I'll keep everyone posted on the findings of the staph infection when I get results back.

RESULTS - The Staph infection is NOT in my joints! The bad news is the Dr doesn't know what's causing the arthritic responses in my body lately. So she wants me to call her back tomorrow and let her know how things are going. She said the arthritic responses could be from a viral infection that is coming on like strep or the flu that my body is fighting...so at this point it's a wait and see game. I can't take any Tylenol or IBP or any fever reducers right now because if I develop a fever she wants to know about it ASAP.

Thanks for your prayers!

Lauren's Room Improvements

So with all the snow outside I decided to finish a project I've been putting off. I've had Lauren's bow holder on the floor in her room since who knows when...and I've had her name just sitting on the dresser for months...so it's finally time to hang them both. :-)

Dancing Fools!

there is supposed to be a video of Lauren on here too but I guess it's too big to load...I'll cut it down and load it later.

Tiny Pink Twinkle Toes

Last night Kraig asked Lauren to put her shoes on the towel when they came in from outside...when we checked on them this is what we found. Too cute to not put on here. :-)
This little girl LOVES her daddy!

First Snow Man 2011

Today the weather was finally nice enough for us to go out and play in the snow. So, while Colton was napping Lauren and I decided to make a snowman (well Snowman Reindeer per Lauren's request as you will see). :-)
This was Lauren's first snowman ever and my first snowman in a long time. It was a lot of fun...I think I may have enjoyed it just as much as Lauren did (ok maybe a little more than she did...but who's telling!)
We decided our snowman should do the Matthew Maconahay lean...(an inside work joke as if you look at all the movie posters MM is in...he has a slight lean)
The final product. The eyes were made from red potatoes, the nose a sweet potato and the smile courtesy of a banana!
Lauren is 3 1/2 years old.
