Big Girl Bed! - 28 months old

This Big Girl has slept in her queen size big girl bed for a full week now! We only had 3 nights where she woke up in the middle of the night...the rest of the week she slept through the night AND she never even got out of bed! We think it's because she thinks its a big crib and doesn't know she can get out of bed...but hey, who are we to tell her any different?!?!?! LOL We kept putting it off thinking it was going to be a major deal...but so far things are going great! We put Minnie Mouse, Sponge Bob and her kitty cat in bed with her so each night I read her a book, give her a kiss and then tell each animal good night and cover them up in her 'big girl' sheets and comforter. I think she enjoys that...I know I do. :-)

Colton's Nursery

So we found the perfect painters! They came to our house Thursday to give us an estimate and showed back up Friday at 9 am to paint! They had two coats on the walls by 12 noon Friday and did a wonderful job!!! I'm so happy with it! We still have to hang a few things on the walls but at least the painting is done and the furniture is all set up. :-)

Our first week home with Colton

I can't believe Colton has already been with us for a week now! Man how time flies! So far things are going great. Lauren is a wonderful big sister and every time Colton cries she says "mommy, he needs to eat!". The first night at home he didn't go to sleep until 1 a.m. but then slept from 1-6 without waking up! The 2nd night he slept about every 2-3 hours and now he is sleeping in 3 sometimes 4 hour increments so that is nice! The only thing is he wants to be right by us at night...during the day he will sleep in his pack and play but at night when the room is quiet he wants to be right next to us in bed...so we are letting him for the time being! :-) These are in order so you might see some changes in Colton from the first photo to the last and that's because it's from the day we came home to today. :-) Enjoy!

Just watching TV with my big sister...

With the flu being so bad right now we are asking everyone to use hand sanitizer when they visit...I guess Lauren caught on because she wants to put on "lotion" all the time now!

Our first Dr. appointment

We had our first Dr. appointment Friday to check Coltons weight and let the Dr get an initial look. Dr. Furlow said he looks great! He weighed 6 lbs and 6 oz so he has lost some weight but not enough to be concerned over since he just started getting milk yesterday. Our next appointment will be his 2 week check up. We took Lauren with us also so she could get a flu shot and she did great! She got the mist and they said just sniff like you were smelling a flower and she did and was so proud of herself! We told her that the Dr. was going to give her medicine to fix her nose and she never had any issues! I'm so proud of her!!!
