Soccer Saturday
Saturday Lauren had her 2nd soccer game of the spring season. Team Happy Feet did great and Lauren started going after the ball rather than chasing it and the other team members. So it was a great day! Kristen, Brian and Ava Bug came to the game for a bit before Ava decided she wanted to play soccer but couldn't. :-)

Colton - Our Little Talker
Over the last few months Colton has really started talking NON-STOP! If we are in the car he talks about the cars we are passing, dogs he sees, directions we should go "go this way mommy", counts things, etc. His teacher is really good about writing notes on his daily paper to let us know how he did that day and recently there have been several funny things he will do and/or say since his vocabulary is growing. Below are examples of such things. Enjoy!

Lauren's Kindergarten Tour
I'm a little behind on this post but better late than never. Good Friday we took Lauren to her soon to be Elementary school for a tour. She was so excited in the car...but then was VERY shy once we got inside. I was amazed to see all the things that have changed since I was in school. They have an indoor gym (without bleachers) for the kids to play basketball with a rock climbing wall (small but there) as well as a computer room. Kindergartners will have computer class, Music and Art once a week and PE twice a week. Kraig knew the PE teacher Mr Park from playing Golf with him. I later found out that two kids from Lauren's current class at Bright Haven will be going to the same school as their mom's are first grade teachers there...so that will be nice. I ran into one of them this week when picking up the kids and she is so nice (Mrs. Chesser is having her 2nd baby in August while I'm having my 3rd in July so that's another thing for Lauren and Joshua to talk about). It was a great tour and we are looking forward to a great 1st year (with a few tears from mama in August I'm sure)!

28 Week Appointment & Gestational Diabetes Test - Baby #3
I had my Gestational Diabetes test this morning. I had the lovely orange glucose drink above (gross...I hate orange soda taste) at 8:20 and had a finger prick at 9:20...the results are...I PASSED! You are supposed to be at 135 or below and I was at 134. :-) They said "it doesn't matter how close to 135 you are as long as you are 135 or below you pass!". I have been exercising a lot more over the last 2 weeks and watching more closely what I'm eating (protein vs. carbs) so I'm going to try and keep this up most of the time for the last 12 weeks so that I stay healthy. The Dr appt went well...stats are below.
(I don't have pics of Colton at 28 weeks so no comparison photos this week)
Stats
How Far Along: 28 weeks
Size of baby: Small cabbage (17 inches long and about 2.9 lbs)
Baby's Heart Rate: 149-150
Measurement: 28 cm (so right on track)
Blood Pressure: 108/64 (mine is always low)
Gestational Diabetes Test: 134 (needs to be 135 or below)
Iron level: 14.4 (needs to be between 11 and 15 so mine was great!)
Weight Gain: I lost a 1/2 pound over the last 2 weeks so a total of 17.5 pounds so far
Maternity Clothes: Um Yes!
Gender: It's a Surprise! For the longest time I have thought boy...but I'm starting to think it might be a girl...so I honestly don't know. I still feel like I'm carrying really low which is similar to Colton's pregnancy, but that could all be just because it's my third pregnancy (and my body has changed) and have nothing to do with the baby. :-)
Movement: All the time now mostly in the morning right before I'm supposed to get up and at night when I'm going to bed.
Sleep: It's ok. The hip pain is starting to come bad with a vengeance. I have been drinking more water (my last 3 cups) in the evenings to make sure and get in my 9 glasses of water a day so I've been getting up 3 or 4 times a night to pee.
Symptoms: Heartburn is coming back and I'm still feeling some light cramps every once in a while but nothing regular. The Dr said that's typical on busy days, however I sometimes get them on days that I have just been relaxing. I think it's just a third pregnancy symptom.
What I miss: Wine - However the feeling of having this baby in my belly certainly outweighs the 'miss' I feel! :-)
Cravings: nothing specific really
Best Moment this week: Hearing the baby's heart rate today and feeling him/her move!
What I am looking forward to: Vacation in a few weeks!

What is Baby Williams going to be?
Old Wives tales
Soft or dry skin? Mine has dry (especially my hair) which indicates BOY!
Have you felt glowing or less than beautiful and had lots of breakouts? I have not had breakouts like I did with Lauren. Little girls are supposed to cause breakouts so... BOY!
Heartbeat indicator: According to legend, 140+ beats per minute indicates a girl, and below 140 a boy. So far the heartbeats have been high (last time was 166) which is said to be an indicator of a GIRL!
Craving sweet or salty?: Sweets which is an indicator of GIRL! However I craved sweets with Colton too and didn't with Lauren so this one is up in the air. According to my own kids I would say BOY!
Dreams- Some people say whatever you dream about is what you are having. Others have said that you have opposite of what you have been dreaming about. I have yet to dream about the sex of this baby. So another one up in the air.
Carrying - If you're carrying high, break out the pink. If your bump is low, you're carrying a boy. I think I'm carrying low so BOY!
Potty Time - This one's a little out there. Pee in a cup, mix a tablespoon of Drano in, and watch to see if it changes color. Green = girl, and blue = boy. Results? Mine was more green than blue...but was not real clear either way so indication = GIRL!
Even and Odd - Legend has it that the Mayans determined a baby's sex by looking at the mother's age at conception and the year of conception. If both are even or odd, it's a girl. If one's even and one's odd, it's a boy. Correct with Lauren and Colton so indication = GIRL!
Nice Ring to It - Pop off your wedding ring and tie it to a string. Hang it over your belly. If it swings in a circle, a little guy's in your future. If it goes back and forth, you've got a girl. Indication = BOY!
Queasy Does It - Sick as a dog during the first trimester -- or still? Signs indicate you're having a girl. Little or no morning sickness points to a boy. - I would say little or no morning sickness as I was just queasy but never sick with Colton and this baby...and was never sick or even queasy with Lauren so indication = up in the air...however according to my own kids I would say BOY since it followed Colton's pattern.
Chinese Gender Calendar predicts it's a GIRL! and it has been correct with Lauren and Colton...so we shall see!
What's the tally? That's 4 for Boy and 6 for Girl based on the old wives tales. If we factor in the 2 'based on my own kids' it would be 6 for Boy and 4 for Girl.
My guess is honestly still up in the air. I have thought boy for the longest time but just over the past week have thought maybe it's a girl...so we shall see! What are your guesses??? Be sure to vote in the poll on the right side of the blog!

27 Weeks - Baby #3
Excuse the 'tired' look on my face. Some little girl woke up around 5:30 (I think) and her daddy brought her into bed with us thinking she would go back to sleep...that didn't happen.
27 weeks with Colton and baby #3
Funny how my belly button is out now!
Symptoms: My Calves are starting to swell some with the heat and sitting at work. Boo

Playing at the Park Easter Sunday
Before Easter dinner, we had a little fun at the park! My mother-in-law Donna made the kids shirts (Lauren's bunny shirt and Colton's 'Hangin with my Peeps' bunny shirt). Thanks Nona! They are super cute!
