Well the Dr said they would get worse before they got better since the antibiotic will be in his system for a few days...he was right. Poor guy woke up this morning with hives on his face, neck, ears, etc. :-(

Hives, Hives and more Hives
So my baby boy has been on an antibiotic Zythromax since Monday for an ear infection. Last weekend he started having a fever on Saturday and got up to 104 at one point...we put him in the bath to cool him down quickly and gave him IB Profen. That worked and he didn't have a fever since then however we wanted to take him to the Dr. Monday (we saw Dr. Denton) because he was still congested and had a cough. Turns out the cold is probably from the weather which is causing his cough from the runny nose which is also causing his ear infection from all the drainage, etc. We were proscribed Zythromax which is a 5 day antibiotic (most others are 10 days).
He has taken Zythromax once before and didn't have any kind of reaction. Well last night he was very irritable and we just thought it was because he didn't get a good nap or something at school. So he took a nap from 6-7 last night...then we got him up and kept him up until 8:30 hoping he would sleep the rest of the night. He did sleep great (8:30-6:30 when we had to wake him up) however when we went in to wake him up and get him dressed I noticed this rash! It was mainly around his arm pits and in the folds of his legs where his diaper is so I thought maybe it was just a reaction from the lotion I used and I didn't let it dry enough or something and then when he went to sleep those areas didn't get enough air so it caused a reaction.
Well we took him to school this morning and told the teachers to let us know if anything changed. They called around 8:40 and said it was getting worse and was now on his neck. Since I took Colton to the Dr. Monday, Kraig decided to take him to the Dr. today so we could rotate with work...so we had an appointment at 9:40 a.m. with Dr. Peyton. The Dr. said that since nothing else in his environment changed (no new foods, drinks, lotions, bath wash, etc were introduced) it's probably a reaction from the antibiotic. Luckily we forgot to give it to him this morning so he only had 3 of the 5 days he was supposed to have. The Dr said he can't have Zythromax again because it would likely cause the same reaction. He said to stop giving him the antibiotic now and to give him benadryl 4 times a day everyday until the hives are gone. So poor guy has hives and is apparently allergic to Zythromax. :-(
Good news is my big boy now weighs 23 lbs 1 oz and turned 15 months old on the 19th!

Snow Day
Since it snowed a lot last night we were able to go play! It took us as long to get ready to go outside as it did to play outside! LOL
Here is Colton before hand...poor guy...he was so bundled up he couldn't move that well. :-)
And Lauren all excited to go in her cute pink jacket!
Colton was not too sure about the snow...I think he liked being outside but just wanted to stay by the door.
Lauren made a snow angel so I had to take a picture of her backside. :-)
Still not sure about this white stuff...
Having a blast!
Laughing at sissy playing in the snow.

Being a Mom
There are days I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. There are days I don't feel like reading two books instead of one. There are days I want to hurry along our bedtime routine. There are days I don't like what I see in the mirror. BUT someday you will not want me to read you any books or rock you before bed. AND I've got time to get my body back to how I like it as what I see in the mirror is a mark of pride not disgust! Then I read the below and remember why I LOVE it all!
I've carried children within my body. Slept with babies on my chest. I've kissed boos boos and mended broken hearts. I've been puked on, peed on, and spent sleepless nights in the rocking chair. But I wouldn't have it any other way. My body isn't magazine perfect, but when I look in the mirror I see a MOM, and there is no greater honor... or blessing!!
I love my babies Lolo and Colty!

Kid Updates
It's been a while since I've posted any stats on our kids so I wanted to fill you in on what's been going on.
Lauren...
Lauren...
- Our princess is 3 1/2 years old!
- She weighs 32 pounds and is 40 inches tall (a little over 3 feet).
- She wears a 3T sometimes but most of the time it's a 4T now because all her 3T stuff is too short...she is getting tall!
- Shoe size is a 9 or 9.5
- Amazes me everyday with how much knowledge she has in that little head of hers!
- Loves Fruit Roll-ups and milk
- Loves to sing and dance
- Loves dresses that 'twirl' (if they don't twirl we argue about wearing other stuff because it doesn't twirl!)
- Has the prettiest blue/green hazel eyes (like her momma)
- Will try anything to stay up longer (going to the bathroom...says she is hungry...wants a drink, etc) :-)
- Wants me to roll down her window when we drive through somewhere so she feels like a big girl too
- Loves chewing gum
- Is the best big sister and will make sure there are not any 'chokey things' out when Bubby is awake. :-)
- Is potty trained...has not had a wet pull up at night for a month now and doesn't wear pull ups at school for nap anymore!
Colton...
- Our prince is 14 months old!
- He weighs around 22 pounds and is 30 inches tall (2 1/2 feet)
- Wears 18 month clothes with 12 month being the right length (he's on the shorter side right now)
- Shoe size is a 4 wide
- He started walking at 12 months and is now trying to run!
- He is getting more and more vocal each day and lets us know when he is not happy
- He has the cutest little laugh and is ticklish right under his chin by his collar bone
- He has learned to lay on the floor and kick and scream when he doesn't get his way :-(
- Only has 2 teeth on the bottom...but his top 2 teeth are finally breaking through the skin!
- Has just figured out that the refrigerator has food...so when he is hungry he will go the fridge and point...it's pretty cute!
- Is wearing a size 4 diaper.
I feel very blessed to have these two wonderful kiddos in my life! Stay tuned for the days of our lives to come!
Have a great weekend!

Lauren Praying 3 1/2 years old
Oh how I love this little girl! This is our normal prayer that we say each night before bed. I thought I would get it on film so I can look back one day and cherish the times when she is this little! Enjoy!

So I'm in the other room eating dinner and I hear this hysterical laughing...so I grabbed my camera and went into the dining room. They were saying Cheers and so Lauren of course had to join in...so she was 'cheers-ing' with Papaw and saying "Cheers to bubbas pants" and "Cheers to this" and "Cheers to that" she was having a blast as you can see!
