31 Weeks and Going Strong

31 weeks down and 9 to go! I can't believe how fast the 2nd pregnancy goes by so quickly! I mean it just seems like yesterday we found out we were pregnant! I'm loving being pregnant and feel very lucky that I have uneventful pregnancies to date. Some people might say "I've got 9 long weeks left" but I feel like "I've ONLY got 9 weeks left?!?". It just seems unreal that in 2 months I'm going to have 2 little ones running around the house. Crazy! Thank you Lord for giving me such a wonderful husband who constantly make sure I'm feeling ok and doing what I'm supposed to in order to have a healthy baby. And thank you Lord for giving me such a wonderful daughter that is going to be such a big help when her baby brother gets here. You are truly the one and only Savior and I'm so grateful for what you have done in my life!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Friday was my mom's birthday so Saturday night my sister Tammy and I took her out to dinner without the kiddos...which is something we NEVER do! It was nice to sit and chat with our wonderful mom and just enjoy each others company.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! WE LOVE YOU!

29 Wk Check up

Hello all!

We had our 29 wk check up this morning and the Dr. said everything looks good. Colton's heartbeat was 154...I'm up 13 lbs...and was measuring at 28 cm but Dr. Reiter said that could just be how the baby is positioned today so no worries that it's 1 cm smaller than it should be. When I was around 12 wks along I measured 14 cm and it balanced out at the next appt....so he said that was normal. So all is well! I go back in 2 wks.

Have a great Thursday!

Swim Lessons Day 5

Saturday was our last day of swim lessons for the summer. :-( It was probably as much therapy for me as it was for Lauren! :-) It was nice and relaxing and fun! Can't wait for next summer already! Nana and Papaw and Granny Barenberg came to watch Lauren since it was her last day, so they took some great photos for us! Thank you and glad you came to watch!
Here we are swimming to the blue rope.
Splashing...
Swimming in a circle...
Blowing bubbles...
Climbing out on her own...

Clapping for the other kids in the class...
Swimming with Miss Susan...
Jumping in the water...
Since it was the last class they brought out the special slide for the kids at the end. Lauren loved it!

Poppa Louie!!!

Poppa Louie is visiting from Hot Springs and we are so glad to see him...we just wish Nonna could have visited too, but we understand that's not always possible. When I came home tonight Poppa Louie came around the corner with Lauren's Chuck E Cheese crown on top of his head along with one of her toys and he said "I have not been entertaining her at all!" Yea right...I know you too well Poppa Louie! I just put Lauren to bed and Kraig and Poppa Louie are playing guitars beside me while I blog. They make great music together...we sure do wish you guys lived closer to us! One day maybe...

Here are some photos of Poppa Louie and Lauren playing.
She had to have her feet on the table like her daddy.

Saying Cheese!

Gestational Diabetes Test Results

GOOD NEWS...I do not have Gestational Diabetes!!! They just called.

Baseline blood work: 65-99 is normal range - mine was 70
1 hour blood test: 65-180 is normal range - mine was 78
2 hour blood test: 65-155 is normal range - mine was 88
3 hour blood test: 65-140 is normal range - mine was 67

I asked her if the fact that I ate SUPER healthy the 3 days before my test would throw it off and if having sweet potatoes the night before my 1 hour test would have thrown that test off and she said no. She said sometimes it just takes a person longer to process the food than 1 hour so the 1 hour test just tells them if a person needs the more invasive test. She said in my case my 1 hour # of 181 (135 is the cut off for the 1 hour test) just told them to have it checked in more detail, but from the 3 hour test I passed with flying colors!

That's a big relief for Kraig and I because I didn't want to have to take insulin shots for the next 12 weeks...I didn't want to have a 14 lb baby...I didn't want to have a higher chance of getting Diabetes later in life AND I didn't want baby Colton to be born with low blood sugar because I had GD. So thank you God!!!! Kraig was really sweet...he just kept saying 'whatever the outcome, I'll help you with whatever you need me to do' so that was nice!
