New Nursery Photos

Hello everyone! Kraig and I painted the letters for Lauren's room this weekend and Kraig put them up tonight. We think it turned out pretty cute and hope Lauren appreciates the work that went into it some day! LOL! We also found our glider this weekend and let me tell you, I about fell asleep in it just rocking to see if I liked it...so it was a great investment as I've heard that a comfortable chair is something you MUST have because you will spend a lot of time in it! So we are pretty close to being finished with the nursery...we just have a few things to finish and then of course the most important thing...baby Lauren's arrival! We can't wait! Anyway, enjoy the photos!

6 months!

As you can see my belly is starting to round out! I think Kraig and I are surprised everyday at the change! So far so good. We go to the doctor every 2 weeks now and I'll have my Gestational Diabetes Test at week 28 so hopefully I'll pass! I'll let you know.

We had our first birthing class tonight. How to bath a baby, change a diaper and swaddle a baby or as Kraig puts it "wrap it like a burrito" were the topics of discussion. It was fun! We got to enjoy it with Emily and Kyle Coleman as they were taking their last birthing class. We took this class first because we are going to be on vacation on the actual date we were supposed to take it...so they let us switch it out. I can't believe 6 months have already passed! Little Lauren is growing and kicking or moving all the time. It's crazy! They gave us babies tonight to learn on, and the nurse said the babies looked a little on the big side but that they were a normal birth size...I think Emily and I were both thinking "there is no way a baby that size is going to come out of us!" I guess we shall see in a few more months! : )

24 week photos

Here are my 24 week photos (aka 5.5 months). I'm sure Kraig is tired of taking photos of me...especially tonight as we had to take 6 photos in order to get 3 good ones that were not blurry! Oh well, he is a trooper! He has actually been awesome this whole pregnancy...always worrying about me and making sure I'm not carrying things that are over 25 lbs. He loves to talk to my belly and rub it so that her daddy will know who he is when she is born! I think it's really cute! He is an awesome husband and is going to be a great dad to little Lauren! I'm very lucky! I can't believe that 5 1/2 months have already passed! Only 3 1/2 more months to go!

The Blog Journey and Where It All Started

Hello all! I want to start a blog to document our journey into the wonderful life of parenthood! That's right we are having a baby! Let me start off with some history.

1996
Kraig and I met while working at Harps Grocery Store in Springdale on Hwy 412 West. He stocked the shelves and I was a cashier. I was a young 16 and he was an old 19! I had just finished my longest relationship of all times (6 months) and was NOT looking for another boyfriend! I was ready to have some me time...well that didn't happen. :-) I just remember this very handsome guy with broad shoulders (really??? what glasses did I have on that day?...he doesn't have a bit of broad in him) who was a freshmen in college thinking I was cute! Oh my gosh...a college guy liked me? A country girl in high school? REALLY? I was so excited but hesitant at the same time. I was so tired of 'the wrong' type of guy that I played hardball (what hardball I could play at 16) and tried to act like I didn't like him...but that didn't last long. We eventually went to a New Years Eve party hosted by our boss at Harps (Michael Beard - who was friends with Kraig) and he was the first guy I had ever talked to that didn't want me to 'party' so that we could actually talk and get to know each other. I knew at that point that he was different than all the other guys. We started dating after that night (12/20/96).

Due to our age, we had our ups and downs especially when each other turned 21 years old without the other person...but I just like to call those 'growing pains'. :-) Without those bumps in the road at such a young age we would not be the people we are today.

Fast forward 6 years after our first date...October 20, 2002
Kraig asked me to marry him and I said YES! It was so sweet. We were at my parents house and supposed to be going to Kraig's mom's house for dinner but we kept waiting around. Kraig was acting different than normal but I didn't think it was for that reason. He was waiting on my dad to show up so that he could ask for permission to marry me. After he and my dad had 'the talk' which I thought was about cars or tires or something...we drove away and Kraig took me back to the place we met, Harps. I thought we were there to pick up some groceries for the dinner that night, but we pulled into the parking lot and he didn't get out of the truck. I thought 'what's wrong?' and then he got choked up and said he brought me back to the place we met because he wanted to ask me something. He then pulled out a gorgeous diamond ring and asked me to marry him. We both started crying some and he explained that we were not at the grocery store for groceries...but that he wanted to take me to a place that meant something to both of us and he thought of the place we met. I think it's so adorable and thoughtful and love that he took me there!

6 months after the engagement...May 31, 2003
We got married! We didn't want a big wedding (me especially) and wanted it to be fun...so Kraig and I decided to get a small group of family and go to Vegas! So we got married on May 31st, 2003 at the Canterbury Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. I think we did The Journey Begins package for $650. We had a blast and just had a reception in Tontitown, AR a week after the wedding. That was my perfect wedding!

December 2006
Fast forward 3 years and 6 months and that's where this blog comes into play. We are 4 months pregnant with our first child!  Baby Williams is due June 11th.

Feel free to read along and enjoy the journey with us!
