Silver Dollar City Weekend

Friday Kraig called me at work and said "ya know this is the only weekend we have free in May, do you want to take the kids to Silver Dollar City?"  We knew the kids would love it and with baby arriving in around 9 weeks it would probably be the only weekend before baby arrives that we could all go, so Saturday morning we went to Lauren's soccer game and then headed to Branson.  Colton was excited to ride the choo choo and Lauren could not wait to ride the rides.  I was limited to certain rides being pregnant so daddy rode most of the rides with them.  Colton barely made the 36" mark to ride the rides, so this was his first time to ride most of the stuff.  We had a great time and it was so nice to get away as a family of 4!
Colton didn't really like the frog's after they started 'leaping' so the lady bugs was a bit more his style.
Riding the boat and shooting the targets with daddy.
My baby girl and me riding the boat and shooting the targets (where Lauren got 11 and was super excited about that #)
We were hot so it was time to cool down with a nice train ride.  You won't believe it but we got robbed while riding the train!  If  you have been to SDC you know what I'm talking about.  If you have not it's a little show they put on during the train ride.  On the second day Lauren said "are we going to see those guys that make us say "hey ugly"?" and Colton was saying "no no bad guys!" :-)
We decided to stay the night so we could go back Sunday morning.  The kids were super excited about being able to swim, however the water was nice and cold so Colton was not letting go of daddy.  It didn't phase Lauren as she was swimming around like crazy.  I honestly forgot my swimsuit so I didn't swim.  I offered to go buy a swimsuit while there but by the time we did that it would have been time for the kids to go to bed, so I just let daddy swim with the kids.
Since the water was a little cold they would take breaks and go in the hot tub for short spurts.
After a fun filled Saturday it was time for bed.  The kids were all snuggled up watching a show so I had to capture this sweet moment (where they weren't fighting over something).
Sunday we got up and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then headed back to SDC for day 2 of fun!
Pregnant women are not allowed to ride the tea cups....not sure if they are worried we will spill our beans or what, but I couldn't ride, so daddy rode with the kids while I took photos.  If you zoom in on this pic I think daddy was having a lot of fun spinning the tea cup as well.  This was Colton's first time to ride this ride since with shoes and the fuz on his hair he finally hit the 36" mark.  :-)
I wanted to take this pic so that one day we can look back and remember how little our kids were.  That tea cup looks giant next to both of them.
They have a new area (or new for us) called Half Dollar Holler with more 'little' kids stuff.  Lauren and Kraig rode the big swings earlier and Colton wanted to go, but Lauren and Kraig said it turned their tummy a little so we didn't think it would be a good idea for Colton.  So once we found this section it was the perfect size for him!
After such a fun weekend and no naps on Saturday this little boy was tired.  About 10 minutes in to the ride home he was out and slept for an hour.  Lauren watched her movie and was our 'big' girl all weekend.  Both kids did great and Kraig and I loved watching the excitement from the kids as well.

Mommy I Flushed It!

This past Monday we had a first in our house.  The kids and I had been painting so Colton and I were in the bathroom washing our hands.  I washed his hands and noticed paint was on his shirt so I took his shirt off and threw it in the floor while I washed my hands.  I heard him say "Unna flush it" and I know he likes to flush the toilet (which didn't have anything in it thanks goodness) so I said "Ok".  I'm washing my hands and the next thing I know he says "my shirt...I flush it!"...I stopped...looked around and didn't see a shirt and it hit me!  I said "you did what?!?!" and he said "My shirt, I flushed it!".  Yep he sure did!  He flushed his (luckily small) cotton t-shirt down the toilet!  I did what any self respecting woman would do (not wanting her husband to be mad at her) and reached in the toilet trying to pull the shirt out but it was already too far gone and I felt nothing.  So I had to plunge the toilet a few times and boom...the shirt moved through and the toilet has worked fine ever since!  Silly little BOY!  He just wanted to see if the shirt would flush...and he got his wish.  So if anyone has a blue cotton t-shirt show up in the sewer system anywhere lets just say it's courtesy of my son.  :-)

Fire Truck Friday

Last Friday, April 27th when I picked up the kids from school I heard a teacher talking about having a 'fire drill' at school today and the fire truck coming to school and all because a little boy had pulled the fire alarm.  She was telling this to one of Colton's class mates mom's and letting her know it was not her son.  She said "I would have put $20 on this kid or this kid but it was not either one of them".  I'm thinking in my head 'ok...if it was not the kid standing at the door with his mom...and it was not one of the two other boys that is limiting the number of boys left in Colton's room...could it be my son?'  Well sure enough, I opened Colton's classroom door and his teacher had a huge smile on her face and said "Colton tell mommy what happened today" and I instantly knew and said "oh no...was it Colton!" and she said yes and laughed.  I told I over heard the other teacher talking about it at the front door and wondered.  She said Colton's class was about to go outside and the teacher had all the kids in the buggy but had to go to the bathroom so she parked the buggy by the door so the up front teacher could watch them.  She said she just got sat down and the alarm went off.  Miss Erin (the owner) said they had to view the tape to see which kid it was and she copied what the first teacher said by saying "I would have put money on this kid or this kid but not Colton!".  She said they were sitting there just waiting and Colton looked up and saw the red fire alarm button and probably wanted to know what it was so he reached up and pulled it down.  She said it is not supposed to be easy to pull so she didn't know if we would be mad that he pulled it or happy that he was strong enough to do it!  I told her it was just 'another first' so we laughed!  So needless to say daycare as well as the kids had an exciting day last Friday because they all got to see the Fire Truck!  Now Miss Erin just hopes other kids don't remember how to 'call the fire truck'!  :-)

Love These Kiddos!

We attended Jackson Coleman's 5th birthday party a week ago at Jump Zone while daddy was in a golf tournament in Hot Springs.  Emily (Jackson's mommy) was kind enough to take this photo for us.  It's rare that a mommy gets in the photos (as we are normally the photographers)!  So thanks Emily!  We had a great time and were so proud of Jackson for donating money to the Miller Woodruff Foundation.  That's a great thing for anyone to do but a 5 year old should get extra kudos!  Great job Jackson!

Colton still will say "I wanna go to birthday party"...and "I wanna go Jump Zone" so he had a blast!

Matthew 6:27 - Why Worry?

I have some friends going through some trials right now so I wanted to post this in their honor.  I know I am guilty of being a worry wart all the time and trying to plan everything to make it 'perfect' however this scripture says it all!  I am not in control, He is and by worrying about things that is just disrupting my life and making it so I miss out on things.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
(Matthew 6:27, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Is there something that you are worrying about today? To worry means to allow something to revolve in your mind over and over again. God doesn’t want you to live worried or anxious about anything. He knows that worry steals your peace and joy. It affects every area of your life. Have you heard the saying, “Don’t worry yourself sick?” That’s because worrying affects your physical body. It affects your sleep. You won’t ever gain anything by worrying; in fact, you’ll lose precious moments that you can never get back again. The good news is that God has promised that you can have victory over worry. It starts by making the choice to trust in Him. When you cast your cares on Him, He will give you His peace.
Decide today to put an end to worry in your life. Choose to feed your faith and fill your mind with God's promises. As you focus on God’s Word, you’ll drive out worry and fill your heart with faith and expectancy; and you’ll be empowered to move forward into the life of blessing He has in store for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I choose to put an end to worry in my life. I choose to feed my faith by studying Your promises and declaring Your Word over my life. Help me to totally trust in You today and every day in Jesus’ name. Amen.

7 Months (30 weeks) - Baby #3

We had our 30 week check up Tuesday morning.  We have officially hit the 7 month mark!  Only 10 weeks to go!  I've had a few comments like "you have how long to go?" and "you are officially looking pregnant" over the last week or so (not that I didn't look pregnant before people come on) but I guess I'm starting to get 'big' now.  :-)
I had some helpers this morning when taking photos!
Comparison photos...30 weeks with Colton and 30 weeks with baby #3

Symptoms: Heartburn is coming back and I'm still feeling some light cramps every once in a while but nothing regular.
What I miss: Wine - However the feeling of having this baby in my belly certainly outweighs the 'miss' I feel! :-)

Cookout Sunday

Sunday we had a cookout with the Judkins and Rogers.  We decided to take photos so that we could keep them and bribe the kids when they get older.  :-)  We all had a great time and the kids slept great that night!
