10.34 pounds!

My chunky monkey weighed 10.34 pounds this morning after his bath! That is 10 pounds 5 ounces!!! He is 4 weeks and 4 days old today. I checked the scale with a 3 lb weight just to make sure and yep it was correct and no he didn't have a dirty diaper and the clothes he has on didn't weigh enough to make a difference as I weighed him without clothes and with clothes. :-)

Oh how I love these kiddos!

Lauren and Colton...your daddy and I love you both so much that words can not express it enough! You are both wonderful kids and are so much fun!

Lauren you are now saying full sentences (non stop I might add) and have been for a while now I've just never stated it on the blog. The other day I asked if you wanted a snack and to my surprise your answer was "no thank you" and i thought..."no thank you?" When did you start saying thank you...not just "no"? LOL You now weigh 32 pounds! You come home from school and have stories of things you did with your friends...most of them start with "Tucker (or Hannah or Will or Porter) bit me" or "my elbow hurts" but when I ask where your elbow is you point to your wrist! Haha We love how much you are expressing yourself now and what a beautiful little girl you are becoming!

Colton...even though you have only been with us for 4 weeks now you your little personality is starting to show. Like your sister, when you are hungry you have the cutest little cry/scream that is like "hello...why were you feeding me 5 minutes ago?" but then when I start feeding you, you either fall asleep or you grunt like "that's what I'm talking about mom!" hehe You are a wonderful baby and your daddy and I are so happy you are with us! We can't wait for what's to come!

Lauren the mommy!

Now that Lauren has a little brother who sits in a swing sometimes she has decided to play mommy to her babies too! The other night I was feeding Colton and she brought over he animals and said "mommy, wrap him up" and then she put them all in the swing and covered them with her 'blanket'. Isn't that sweet! You are going to be a great mommy someday baby girl! We love you!

1 month old

Colton is now 4 weeks old today! I can't believe how fast the last 4 weeks has gone by, but I guess when you have a 2.5 year old that keeps you busy coloring, watching movies and drawing with chalk, the time flies by! :-) My friend Emily Coleman has a baby scale that she is no longer using so she is letting me borrow it. I weighed Colton this morning and he now weighs 9.78 lbs after eating...that is 9 lbs and 12 oz! :-) (Lauren weighed 8 lbs 9 oz at 3 wks) So he has gained 3 lbs since birth! I'm loving spending time at home with my two kiddos and my hubby! Life is good!

I had to fax in my insurance information today to make sure Colton was covered. So we went to Kraig's work and I got some cute photos that I wanted to share. :-)

Chad and Hayden

Chad and Hayden came over last night to visit. Lauren loves to play with Hayden and I think it was nice therapy for Chad, Kraig and I too! Thanks for bringing the pizza and for letting Hayden and Lauren play together. :-)

2 Week Check Up

Wednesday we took Colton to the dr. for his 2 week check up. He has gained a pound and a half in 12 days...that's 2 oz a day! When we took him in at 5 days old he was down to 6 lbs 6 oz. At 16 days old he now weighs 7 lbs 14 oz! (Lauren weighed 8 lbs 9 oz at 3 wks) The dr. said "What are you feeding this kid?" and we just laughed and said we were very lucky with both kids being good eaters! :-) Dr. Denton said everything looks great! Now we are just waiting on his umbilical cord to fall off but other than that we take him back at 2 months old for his first round of shots...

Colton and Rhett

Lindsey and Rhett visited this Monday and brought us dinner. Rhett and Colton are around 6 weeks apart but were born at the exact same weight and height. 6 lbs, 10 oz and 19 inches long. Rhett is now 8 weeks old and Colton is 2 weeks old in the photos and you can see how much bigger Rhett is now! :-) At Colton's 2 week check up he weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and at Rhett's 8 week check up he weighed 12 lbs 8 oz! Thanks for the visit Lindsey and the food! It was awesome!!!

Happy Halloween!

With Colton being just 12 days old on Halloween we decided it was too early to take him out...so Aunt Kissy and Uncle Brian took Lauren around Harber for us (and got some great pics!) while Kraig, Colton and I stayed home and handed out candy. Thanks so much K & B!!! We really appreciate it and I know Lauren had a great time! Please note I was afraid it was going to be too cold for the pink tights that went with this outfit so that's why Lauren is wearing grey pants. :-)
