Colton Robert Williams has arrived!

After a short 6 hours and 45 minutes of labor Colton arrived Monday night! This was totally different than the 27 hour labor with Lauren! We went to the doctor Monday at 3 for our almost 39 week check up (Wednesday would have been 39 wks) and our doctor was on call that night so he stripped my membranes and said "I'll probably see you tonight". I thought whatever...because he did the same thing with Lauren but it didn't do anything...(at least not that day..we had her 5 days later) But he was right! At 4:30 p.m. Lauren and I went to Wal-Mart and I was walking around the store starting to feel something. By 5 I was having contractions! At 5:30 or 6 Kraig's brother Spencer picked Lauren up from our house because my contractions were getting regular. I started walking up and down our street around 6:30 and by 7 Kraig was asking "can we please just go get checked?" Because I could talk in between contractions (which I could not with Lauren) I thought we are not ready yet and they will send us home...even though my contractions were 2-4 minutes apart. After the next few contractions I agreed to go to the hospital. So we left our house somewhere between 7 & 7:30 p.m. and got to the hospital to find out I was already at 5 cm and 90% effaced! So they were not sending us home! We got checked into room 21 around 9 and around 9:30 I got my epidural (at 7 cm). At 10:45 Dr. Reiter showed up to check me and broke my water...at 11:30 the nurse came in and we had just turned the lights off to get some sleep so she said "I'll leave you alone until midnight and check you then"...well 5 minutes later Coltons heart rate dropped into the 60's so she came back saying "I think we need to check you now!" She did and to our surprise I was complete! Kraig left the room to tell our family that we would start pushing in about 10 minutes and the nurse said "lets have you push and see how it goes". I pushed to her count of 5 and she said "STOP!" She called the dr and didn't want me to push anymore...I asked to see what was going on and it was the neatest thing to see it all happen! When the dr. got there we pushed 1 more time and out he came! It was so easy this time around that it's almost unreal. So at 11:45 p.m. Monday night Kraig and I got our precious baby boy with 10 tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes. He is eating wonderfully and has the cutest big sister to love on him! She even said that he was her best friend!!! How cute!!!

38 wks and 5 days

So we missed the 38 week mark for pictures...so below are pictures of me Monday morning October 19th at 38 wks and 5 days. This just happens to be the day we delivered Colton!
We went to the dr. today at 3 p.m. and Colton's heart rate was in the 140's which was great (I think 145)...don't remember what I measured but I've still gained 17 lbs total so dr. said things look great! I'm 3 cm and 50% effaced so since I'm starting to progress on my own and since he is on call tonight, he stripped my membranes at our appt and said he would probably see us later that night. I guess he was right!

Say Hello to My Lil' Punkin

When my sister was pregnant with Katlyn we painted her belly as a pumpkin so after our baby shower they surprised me (hence the clothes that don't match as it was a surprise) with a belly painting of my own and I'm so happy the did! I wanted to do it before Colton arrived...perfect timing...he was born 2 days later! :-)

Lauren's New Room!

Lauren's new "big girl" room was finished last weekend. Now we are just waiting on her bed rails to come in (which should arrive tomorrow) for her to actually sleep in her new room. She is loving having a "pink princess" room that she can play in! We still need to get some pictures on the walls and some curtains for the window...but those will come in time. :-)

37 Week Check Up

So each doctor measures differently I guess. My doctor said we are only 1 cm and 0% effaced this week. :-) So honestly it's a big relief for Kraig and I because Lauren was only 6 lbs and 11 oz and she was just 1 week early...so to think we might have a baby sooner than 1 week early was a little scary for us because I was worried he would be too small. So to hear that we are not as far along as we originally thought is a good thing! I measured 36 cm instead of 37 so a week behind if you go based on that, but Colton's heart rate was great, I didn't gain anymore weight this week, he is head down and I do not have Group B Strep, so things are looking great! We go back next week and I'll keep everyone posted. :-)

I love this little girl!

This weekend Kraig played in a golf tournament in Fort Smith so Saturday and Sunday Lauren and I got a lot of mommy daughter time. It was much needed as with the arrival of Colton coming anytime between now and the next 5 weeks (if I go over) I wanted my baby girl to know that mommy still loves her even though things are going to be changing. So here are some photos from this weekend. :-)
I just love her smile!
Stretching...
What a doll...
Look at those teeth!
Wearing her princess crown with pride. :-)
Lauren I want you to know that you will always be my baby girl! I can't believe how big you are getting and how fast the last 2 years and 4 months have flown by! We have learned so much through you and can't wait for more learning's to come. I'm so proud of the little girl you are becoming. I know you will be a wonderful big sister to your little brother Colton and I look forward to your interactions with him. You are so bright that you amaze your daddy and me with all the things you do and say these days. You are very independent that I don't think you will ever let anyone take advantage of you later in life and that's exactly how we want you to stay!
At this point in your life you...
  • are potty trained (except for night time and nap times)
  • no longer use a pacifier
  • love to take bubble baths
  • love to be outside
  • love to ride your bike (or sit on it while daddy and I take turns pushing you around the block)
  • love to watch movies
  • favorite song is I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas (you can sing most of the song and are very passionate about the "I've got my money...lets spend it up" part in the chorus)
  • favorite books are The Angel book, Sponge Bob book, Cinderella book and the bunny book
  • like to sing the Brown Bear, Brown Bear book at night now before bed and will make up your own 'what do I see' so now I'll say "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see" and you say "um.........(with a long pause here on purpose) Uncle Spencer" and I'll say Uncle Spencer, Uncle Spencer what do you see?" and you will name something or someone else of course with the "um...." in front of it. It's too cute!!!

We just love you so much baby girl and we are so blessed that God gave YOU to US!

36 Wk Check Up

We had our 36 week doctor appointment yesterday and I’m in a little bit of a shock right now…but each pregnancy is different so I should not be I guess. Also yesterday was the day for all measurements to be off because their scale said I lost 5 pounds (which I know I didn't...I lost 1 not 5) and I only measured 33 cm instead of 36. My Dr. is in Mexico on vacation so I saw another doctor and his table is totally different than my doctor so that could be why I measured 33 instead of 36...or the doctor said it could be that Colton is moving down already and so at this point the measurements are not as accurate as they have been in the past due to the baby #1 not having as much room inside and #2 this is the point where the baby could be moving down so as long as Colton is moving like normal everything is fine (and he is...the little guy moves all the time!) Anyway, back to details...I just had my 36 wk check up and I’m already 2 cm dilated, 50% effaced and -2 station! I was not even 1 cm until wk 38 with Lauren. I’m hoping he does not decide to come in the next 2 wks because I’ve got too much to get done! LOL I’ll be fine with October 18th or after. No really I’ll be happy with anytime as long as he is healthy…but like I said I’m in a little bit of a shock right now! Maybe this doctor is just very generous with his measurements and when you are really 1-2 cm he tells you 2 and when you are really 40-50% he tells you 50% thinking that's what you want to hear? So I'll be interested to see what my normal doctor says next week. :-) Just wanted to share the news. Have a great weekend everyone!
