Poppa Louie is visiting from Hot Springs and we are so glad to see him...we just wish Nonna could have visited too, but we understand that's not always possible. When I came home tonight Poppa Louie came around the corner with Lauren's Chuck E Cheese crown on top of his head along with one of her toys and he said "I have not been entertaining her at all!" Yea right...I know you too well Poppa Louie! I just put Lauren to bed and Kraig and Poppa Louie are playing guitars beside me while I blog. They make great music together...we sure do wish you guys lived closer to us! One day maybe...

Gestational Diabetes Test Results
GOOD NEWS...I do not have Gestational Diabetes!!! They just called.
Baseline blood work: 65-99 is normal range - mine was 70
1 hour blood test: 65-180 is normal range - mine was 78
2 hour blood test: 65-155 is normal range - mine was 88
3 hour blood test: 65-140 is normal range - mine was 67
I asked her if the fact that I ate SUPER healthy the 3 days before my test would throw it off and if having sweet potatoes the night before my 1 hour test would have thrown that test off and she said no. She said sometimes it just takes a person longer to process the food than 1 hour so the 1 hour test just tells them if a person needs the more invasive test. She said in my case my 1 hour # of 181 (135 is the cut off for the 1 hour test) just told them to have it checked in more detail, but from the 3 hour test I passed with flying colors!
That's a big relief for Kraig and I because I didn't want to have to take insulin shots for the next 12 weeks...I didn't want to have a 14 lb baby...I didn't want to have a higher chance of getting Diabetes later in life AND I didn't want baby Colton to be born with low blood sugar because I had GD. So thank you God!!!! Kraig was really sweet...he just kept saying 'whatever the outcome, I'll help you with whatever you need me to do' so that was nice!

27 Wk Check up and Glucose Test
So this morning was my 1 hour glucose test and 27 wk check up with my Dr. The good news is that my Dr. said everything looks great with the pregnancy and baby Colton. I'm up 11 lbs so far and am measuring 27 cm which is right on target for being 27 wks along. He said to continue doing what I'm doing and that the pains I've been having are just a part of being pregnant and that each pregnancy can be totally different and that's why I'm feeling more pains, etc with this pregnancy than I did with Lauren.
Now to the bad news...I did not pass the 1 hour Glucose test. That does not mean that I have gestational diabetes yet, it just means they need me to take the 3 hour glucose test Monday and based on those results I will find out if I have gestational diabetes or not. So it looks like no more sweets for me! I have to admit that with Lauren I did much better about how many sweets I ate...with baby Colton I've been more lax about everything, so I've allowed myself more sweets than normal and even though my weight is lower than it was with my first pregnancy that doesn't mean I can eat sweets on a regular basis. So just to be on the safe side, I'm going to really start watching what I eat because I DON'T want to end up with gestational diabetes and be on insulin shots the remainder of my pregnancy. So I go in Monday morning at 8 a.m. and get to drink the lovely orange sugar water again and they will test my insulin levels every hour for 3 hours. On a side note we have been eating lots of sweet potatoes because they are supposed to be healthier than regular potatoes, but I never even thought about the sugar levels in them...AND we had them for dinner Thursday night (last week)...Sunday night...AND last night! :-) So hopefully it was all higher just because of eating too many carbs in the last 24 hours. I'll keep you all posted. Colton was moving around a lot this morning after I drank the sugar water though...I think he was on a sugar high! :-)

Dinner with Barenberg's
Thursday we had my parents over and my sister Tammy came over with her kids Katlyn and Austin because Lauren says everyday "unna go see Katlyn and Austin" so when I knew my parents were coming over I called Tammy too so that Lauren, Katlyn and Austin could all play. I think it turned out great!

Wk 26 (6 months)
Here we are at 26 wks. This will be the last comparison photo for a while because with Lauren's pregnancy we took 26 wk photos and then didn't take them again until 32 wks because of work schedules, so I'll post comparison photos again at 32 wks with baby Colton.
Watching Cartoons
Yesterday when I was getting ready Lauren was sitting on our bed watching Mickey Mouse and Kraig said 'Look at your daughter'...well she was laying on her belly with her hands up holding her chin up. It was so cute! By the time I got the camera she had put her hands down but it was still cute so I had to post. :-)

Rockin' Out with Beyonce
This weekend I had the TV on and Beyonce was singing. The next thing I know Lauren goes into the spare bedroom and gets our guitar and microphone and came out wanting to play! It was so cute I ran into our bedroom and got the camera.

Saturday we had our 2nd swim lessons.
Lauren did great and really enjoyed it when her teachers took her.
Here she is being the example of how all swimmers have wet hair. :-)
Getting ready to put on our floaties.
Going to Miss Kim to float and look for squirls in the trees. :-)
Finally play time. :-)
